Women of Influence+ Opens the 31st Annual RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards Call for Nominations
TORONTO, ON – JANUARY 24, 2023 – RBC and Women of Influence+ are pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards. This year’s nomination campaign marks the 31st year of the awards, which recognizes Canada’s most accomplished and impactful women entrepreneurs, whose successful businesses contribute significantly to the local, national, and global economy.
Over the last year, an unprecedented number of women entrepreneurs from across Canada were recognized by their peers, colleagues, and communities for outstanding achievements in business and contributions to the Canadian economy. This year, it is more important than ever to continue shining a spotlight on the women in our communities who are shaking the proverbial table and changing the world of business. A nomination is the first step.
“Canada is home to some of the most inspiring women business leaders who have been trailblazing within their respective industries to lead change, bring innovative ideas to market, and drive growth,” said Sean Amato-Gauci, Executive Vice President, Business Financial Services, RBC. “Their leadership and contributions are critical to the future of our economic prosperity and competitiveness in the global marketplace. RBC is proud to partner with Women of Influence+ to discover, share and celebrate their stories and achievements through this year’s RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards program.”
Since its inception, more than 70,000 women have been nominated for the RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards and over 210 Awards have been presented for outstanding entrepreneurial achievement. Each of these prestigious awards is tailored to recognize women from all sectors of the economy and at all stages of business growth. They include: Ones to Watch Award, Micro-Business Award, Start-Up Award, RBC Momentum Award, Social Change Award: Regional Impact, Social Change Award: National/International Impact, Innovation Award, and Excellence Award.
“Our mission at Women of Influence+ is not just to change the narrative, our goal is to rewrite it,” said Dr. Rumeet Billan, Owner and Chief Executive Officer, Women of Influence+. “For more than 30 years, this program has provided us with a powerful platform to do just that by celebrating the achievements of incredible entrepreneurs. We are calling on businesses, organizations, and our community to help us recognize the important and transformative work women entrepreneurs contribute to our country.”

About Women of Influence Worldwide Inc.
For almost 30 years, Women of Influence+ (WOI+) has been the community where ambitious women with wide-ranging expertise, and innovative ideas go to create a new future for themselves and for the world of work at large. A future where women-led leadership thrives. At WOI+, our ethos is rooted in making meaningful and impactful change. We do this by placing ourselves and our community in positions of influence and power — places where we can drive transformation.
We measure influence by impact — the ripples that are made, the doors that are opened, the number of seats that are added to the proverbial decision-making table. Influence is about how decisions, innovations, and systems create a more inclusive and equitable world for everyone. At WOI+, we are unafraid to shake the status quo to transform society’s expectations of our capabilities.
We are dedicated to sharing and elevating the unfiltered success stories of a diverse group of role models. We know that when done right — from the podium or the page — these stories not only inspire, educate, and connect — they start to redefine our perceptions of gender roles and abilities. We are changing the narrative. The result? Our community is equipped with the connections, support, training, and tools to carve new pathways, and excel within their careers, on their own terms.
