Hana James is a co-founder of Greenhouse, its Director of Community, and a co-author of The Greenhouse Cookbook, a national bestseller. After completing a BSc at McGill University, Hana was en route to medical school when she decided to explore another passion: helping people improve their health through food. In 2011, Hana founded Café Shu, a juice bar and healthy café with two locations in Toronto. In 2014, Hana joined her close friends Anthony Green and Emma Knight in founding Greenhouse.

She has worked with some of the largest brands throughout Canada and the US, such as a global ambassador for the Dove Show Us campaign, in addition to launching her modelling career by walking in New York Fashion Week. But she is most proud of launching the #MySizeRox movement and campaign. Backed by her bold personality and positive message of empowerment for girls and women, she’s become the leading body activist and speaker inspiring women from around the world to feel good about themselves.

A true media visionary, she has repeatedly proved her ability to predict “the next big thing”. Tina’s portfolio includes iconic works including the Vanity Fair cover featuring a nude photo of a very pregnant Demi Moore.

Meet Tina Brown

Tina Brown is an award-winning journalist, editor, author, and founder of the Women in the World summits. Between 1979 and 2001, she was editor-in-chief of Tatler, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker and authored the 2007 best-selling biography of the Princess of Wales, The Diana Chronicles. In 2000, she was awarded the honor of Commander of the Order of the British Empire by the Queen for her services to journalism. In 2007 she was inducted into the Magazine Editors’ Hall of Fame.

In October 2008 Brown launched and edited the digital news site The Daily Beast, which won the news website of the year award in 2012 and 2013. She launched Tina Brown Live Media in 2014 to expand Women in the World internationally with summits in London and Delhi and with smaller salons throughout the United States. In 2017, she published The Vanity Fair Diaries which was chosen as one of the best books of 2017 by Time, People, Amazon, The Guardian, The Economist, Entertainment Weekly, & Vogue.

Eva is Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer at Borrowell, a financial technology company that helps Canadians make great decisions about credit. Borrowell offers free credit score monitoring, personal loans and product recommendations to over half a million members, making it one of Canada’s largest fintech companies. With a background in management consulting and business development, Eva has worked in both the business and not-for-profit sectors in Canada and abroad, including roles at Maple Leaf Foods and Oliver Wyman. She holds degrees from Harvard University and Queen’s School of Business.

Eva was named one of 20 tech start-up founders to follow by Twitter Canada and is on the 2017 Women in FinTech Powerlist. She enjoys biking, cooking and exploring the city with her husband and two kids.

Huda’s work has been featured in The Globe and Mail, Metro News, CNBC, and Metro Morning. She has been recognized amongst the Top 5 CEOs in Toronto Life and as a Top 25 Women of Influence in 2017. Huda serves on the Business Innovation and Development committee at Sinai Health System and on the Canadian Federal Economic Strategy Table for Health and Biosciences.

Sage is the co-founder and CTO of Crescendo, a tool for personalized unconscious bias training in Slack. A seasoned developer and technical educator, Sage has contributed code to startups and nonprofits across North America. In her previous roles at Microsoft, Sage specialized in cognitive computing, mixed reality, and blockchain, and prior to that she created global-scale online courses for developers as an educator at Microsoft Learning. Now splitting her time between Toronto and Montreal, Sage is an active participant in the AI ethics and transhumanist communities, and believes in building inclusive technology that improves the human experience.
